If you want to appear more youthful-looking without appearing like you’ve had work done-then Sculptra Aesthetic may be a great choice for you.
Sculptra Aesthetic is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)-based treatment that works deep within the skin to help stimulate collagen production. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra Aesthetic helps stimulate the skin’s own natural collagen production.
Patients can achieve natural-looking results that can last more than 2 years.
To reduce the risk of Sculptra side-effects by choosing a highly trained, experienced injector who works under the guidance and supervision of a board-certified plastic surgeon. The injector should have an intimate knowledge of the anatomy of aging and and which fat pads need to be treated with specific volumes.
Sculptra is recommended for replacing facial volume that has been lost due to weight loss or aging. A filler made of poly-L-lactic acid, Sculptra can last two to three years once the desire results are achieved. Because results improve gradually it won’t be obvious that you’ve had something done.
Sculptra is not recommended for use on the lips or eyes or if you are impatient; you will likely need several treatments over a few months to achieve the desired look. If you don’t like the results or have a complication they can’t be undone and you’ll have to wait for them to fade.
Sculptra injections are done in a doctor’s office and typically takes less than an hour. The provider will discuss your goals, examine the treatment area, mark the injection locations and prep the area with antiseptic and topical anesthetic prior to injecting. Following the treatment the provider will massage the area to distribute the Sculptra and prevent the formation of lumps or nodules under the skin.
You will need to massage the area on your own, several times a day, for about a week after the procedure; your provider will show you how. It’s normal to see a temporary plumping right away which may linger for several days and then fade. You will likely experience some swelling and bruising.
